The Detroit Red Wings aren't the only sports franchise happy to have Steve Yzerman back in the Motor City.

The city's pro sports teams were psyched about having the former captain and three-time Stanley Cup champion back home.

Yzerman was named general manager of the Red Wings on Friday.

The Tigers put a big picture of Yzerman on the scoreboard at Comerica Park before a game against the Chicago White Sox.

Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire also lauded the Red Wings hire on the pregame broadcast and said he was hoping to secure some tickets for the upcoming season as soon as possible.

The NBA's Detroit Pistons shared a message on Twitter.

The Detroit Lions also applauded the hiring, with emojis

Yzerman was GM of the Tampa Bay Lightning for eight seasons before stepping down in September 2018.
