The Game

Goaltender Petr Mrazek will start for the Detroit Red Wings, who look for a season-high third straight win when they visit the Calgary Flames at Scotiabank Saddledome on Thursday.

Mrazek is 2-2-1 with a 2.55 goals-against average and .924 save percentage in five games this season, including a 36-save shutout in a 4-0 win at the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday.

The Red Wings have won four of their past five games following a six-game losing streak (0-5-1).

Defenseman Rasmus Andersson will make his season debut for the Flames, who are 3-1-0 in their past four games. Andersson, 21, has played one NHL game in his career, a 3-1 loss at the San Jose Sharks on April 8 last season. He has eight points (one goal, seven assists) in 10 games with Stockton of the American Hockey League this season.

 

Players to watch

Red Wings defenseman Mike Green is tied for second on the team with 13 points (one goal, 12 assists). 

Flames forward Micheal Ferland has three points (two goals, one assist) in his past two games, and four goals and two assists in his past seven games.
