HOUSTON - Cedrick Desjardins stopped 20 shots and earned his first American Hockey League shutout as the Hamilton Bulldogs blanked the Houston Aeros 4-0 Sunday.
Mathieu Carle scored twice, while Brock Trotter and Ben Maxwell added goals for Hamilton.
Trotter opened the scoring at 2:01 of the second period, putting a rebound past Houston goaltender Nolan Schaefer and extending his goal-scoring streak to three games.
Carle extended the lead on a power play when he pinched from the point and converted a pass from Ryan Russell at 10:54 of the second.
Hamilton (13-5-1-0) went up 3-0 less than a minute later when Maxwell scored on a power play, sending a puck through traffic that beat Schaefer.
Carle scored his second power-play goal of the game at 9:41 of the third period.
Schaefer made 23 saves for Houston (8-9-0-1).
