It took just 19 seconds for Nicolas Deschamps to make an impact with the Moncton Wildcats.
Deschamps had two goals and an assist as the Wildcats rolled the Halifax Mooseheads 10-1 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action Sunday afternoon.
The 19-year-old sniper was traded to Moncton from the Chicoutimi Sagueneens on Dec. 23, just before the holiday break.
Moncton sent forward Matthew Bissonnette and defenceman Jeremy Barriault to Chicoutimi in the deal. The Wildcats also gave up a first-round pick in 2011 and a fourth-round pick in 2010 in the trade.
Gabriel Bourque, currently playing with Team Canada in the World Junior Championship, was also acquired by Moncton on Dec. 23 from the Baie-Comeau Drakkar.
Deschamps had 18 goals and 26 assists in 31 games with the Sagueneens, good for second on the team in scoring.
He showed instant chemistry with new linemates Randy Cameron and David Savard, scoring on his first shift with the Wildcats.

At Halifax, Daniel Pettersson had two goals and two assists for Moncton (22-11-3), while Devon MacAusland added a goal and three assists.
Savard, Mark Barberio, Alex Saulnier, Scott Trask and Marek Hrivik also tallied for the Wildcats.
Gerrad Grant was the lone scorer for Halifax (8-27-3).

At Quebec City, Dmitri Kugryshev and Danick Paquette both had two goals and two assists as the Remparts crushed Chicoutimi.
Jonathan Audy-Marchessault scored twice and added an assist for Quebec (25-8-5), while Frederick Roy, Samuel Groulx, Kelsey Tessier and Mikael Tam also had goals.
Alexandre Roy had the only marker for the Sagueneens (13-14-8).

At Shawinigan, Que., Pierre-Alexandre Vandall had a pair of goals and added an assist as the Cataractes bested Gatineau.
Michael Bournival opened scoring for Shawinigan (18-14-5), while Jean-Philippe Foucher, Etienne St-Germain, Olivier Ouellet and Tommy Tremblay added singles.
Adam Janosik, Hubert Labrie, Olivier Croteau, Alexandre Quesnel and Christian Ouellet had goals for the Olympiques (19-15-3).

At Victoriaville, Que., Stefan Fournier had the winner as Lewiston upset the Tigres.
