HAMILTON - Marc Denis made 27 saves as the Hamilton Bulldogs blanked the Hartford Wolf Pack 2-0 Friday night in AHL action.
Ben Maxwell scored an even-strength goal in the first period for Hamilton (3-0-0), and Yanick Lehoux added a power-play marker in the third.
Maxwell opened the scoring for the Bulldogs at 15:05 of the first period, snapping a shot past Wolf Pack (1-2-0) goaltender Miika Wiikman from low in the right-wing circle.
The second period was scoreless, and Hartford forced Denis to make 12 saves.
The Wolf Pack had a 5-on-3 man advantage for 1:58 late in the period, as Ryan Flinn took a roughing minor at 15:02 and Chad Anderson was called for delay of game for shooting the puck out of play two seconds later, but the Hartford power play could not capitalize
After Hartford's P.A. Parenteau took a major penalty for boarding at the 10:00 of the third period, Lehoux scored on the resulting power play.
Wiikman made 27 saves on the night.
