OTTAWA - Erik Karlsson is back in the NHL.
The Ottawa Senators recalled the 19-year-old defenceman from Binghamton on Friday, sending Brian Lee down to their American Hockey League affiliate.
Karlsson was Ottawa's first-round draft pick in 2008 and started this season with the NHL team. He was assigned to Binghamton on Oct. 27 and recorded 11 assists in the team's past 12 games.
In nine NHL games this season, the Swede had three assists.
Lee appeared in Ottawa's past 13 games, recording two goals and an assist.
