Dean Ouellet scores twice as Cape Breton tops Halifax 5-1 @NHLdotcom

Dean Ouellet scored twice to lead the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles to a 5-1 win over the Halifax Mooseheads in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action Thursday.

Ouellet, Cape Breton's captain, now has 40 goals on the season.

Elsewhere in the QMJHL on Thursday, it was: Acadie-Bathurst 3 St. John's 2 in a shootout and Rouyn-Noranda 3 Shawinigan 2.

At Halifax, Joey Haddad, Alex Lamontagne and Chris Culligan added goals for Cape Breton (34-21-3-3).

Guillaume Monast had the lone goal for the Mooseheads (36-19-0-5).

Titan 3 Fog Devils (SO)

At Bathurst, N.B., Tomy Joly scored the shootout winner to lift the Titan over St. John's.

Drew Paris and Spencer Jezegou added goals for Acadie-Bathurst (33-23-1-2).

Luke Adam and T.J. Brennan countered for Fog Devils (27-27-1-5).

Huskies 3 Cataractes 2

At Shawinigan, Que., Ivan Vishnevskiy scored the winner with 3:11 left in the third period to lead Rouyn-Noranda over the Cataractes.

Jarrad Struthers and Brett Morrison added goals for the Huskies (40-18-2-1).

Olivier Donais and Antoine Houde-Caron replied for Shawinigan (28-27-0-3).
