OSHAWA, Ont. - David Jarram's natural hat trick led the Oshawa Generals to a 9-2 OHL win over the Erie Otters Friday, snapping a three-game losing streak.
Jarram, an overage player picked up from the London Knights in the off-season, scored the game's first three goals, matching his career goal total prior to this season.
Shea Kewin chipped in with a goal and two assists, while Brett MacLean, Brett Parnham, John Tavares, Dean Howard and Ryan McGinnis also scored for Oshawa (3-2-0-1).
Shayne Taylor and Kelly Geoffrey replied for the Otters (3-4-0-0).
Goalie Daryl Borden, acquired in a recent trade with Kingston, earned his first win for the Generals, who outshot the Otters 40-35. Justin Garay allowed the first six goals in net for Erie before being relieved by Shane Owen.
Oshawa's potent power play scored four times on nine chances, while the Otters went 1-for-8 with the man advantage.
