PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - Daniel Maggio scored his first two goals of the season to lead the Oshawa Generals to a 7-4 win over the Peterborough Petes in Tuesday's lone Ontario Hockey League game.
Nicklas Jensen, Emerson Clark, Brian Hughes, Lucas Lessio and Andy Andreoff, into an empty net, added singles for the Generals (9-10-2), who took a 4-0 lead after 20 minutes by scoring twice in the final two minutes of the opening period.
Peterborough (10-5-3) received goals from Alan Quine, Matt Puempel, Joey West and Austin Watson. They rebounded by scoring the only two goals of the second period, outshooting the Generals 25-8 in the frame.
Mike Morrison replaced starter Andrew D'Agostini after the first period for Peterborough. Kevin Bailie went the distance for Oshawa, stopping 49 of the 53 shots he faced.
Gary Agnew got the win in his first game as coach of the Generals. He replaced Chris DiPiero, who was relieved of his coaching duties but stayed on as general manager.
Jonathan Jasper had an assist for Peterborough in his first game with the Petes since coming over from the Kitchener Rangers in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick.
Peterborough scored once in four power-play chances while the Generals didn't have a man advantage.
