Dan Gendur scores the overtime winner as Everett edges Portland

EVERETT, Wash. - Dan Gendur scored with 6.5 seconds remaining in overtime, and the Everett Silvertips defeated the Portland Winter Hawks 4-3 Saturday night in WHL action.

Everett led 3-1 late in the third period thanks to goals by Jordan Mistelbacher, Gendur and Zach Hamill.

However, Portland scored twice in the final 1:04 with the goaltender pulled - Tristan King and Keith Voytechek finding the net - to tie it up and force overtime.

Shayne Barrie finished with 28 saves in goal for Everett (37-25-0-3), which moved into fifth place in the Western Conference, one point ahead of Kelowna.

Chris Francis also scored and Jordan White made 34 saves in goal for Portland (9-52-2-1), which lost its 19th straight.
