Holtby stops 39 shots, Robertson wins it with hatty

WINNIPEG -- Jason Robertson completed his first NHL hat trick with 30 seconds remaining in overtime to give the Dallas Stars a 4-3 win against the Winnipeg Jets at Canada Life Centre on Friday.

Robertson scored on a breakaway with a wrist shot to end a shift of 1:37.
"I was out there for a while," Robertson said. "When the puck turns over, I didn't stop, I kept moving my feet and you just find that extra ounce of energy to go down there and, I can't lie, I love breakaways. I want a breakaway, so I find whatever energy is left to get that."
Robertson scored in overtime for a 4-3 win against Winnipeg at Dallas on Feb. 11.
"Listen, he's a natural goal-scorer," Stars coach Rick Bowness said. "He's got a great touch around the net and he loves to score. His poise with the puck and where to put it and when to put it, you can't teach those instincts that he has. You just can't, and he has those natural instincts goal-scorers have."

DAL@WPG: Robertson scores 3 as he wins it in overtime

Braden Holtby made 39 saves for the Stars (31-20-3), who extended their point streak to five games (4-0-1). Denis Gurianov tied it 3-3 at 15:28 of the third period with a wrist shot from the point.
Nikolaj Ehlers had an assist in his return from a knee injury, and Paul Stastny scored two goals for the Jets (24-21-10). Connor Hellebuyck made 30 saves.
Ehlers had six shots in 16:04 of ice time after missing 19 games.
"[Ehlers] gave us exactly what we expected: speed," Winnipeg coach Dave Lowry said. "He's a dynamic player who is going to create offense. You just look at his shot totals tonight, he was on and around the puck."
Each of the four games between the teams this season went into overtime, with Dallas winning three in OT after Winnipeg won the first game in a shootout.
"These two points are very important to us," Robertson said. "It's just a big win for our team and our [penalty kill] played outstanding and we got rewarded with that win.
"[Holtby] made some huge, key saves, especially in overtime and we wouldn't have had the win without him."

DAL@WPG: Gurianov scores on wrister from high slot

Stastny gave the Jets a 3-2 lead at 12:19 of the third period, taking a Blake Wheeler pass from behind the goal line and scoring on a one-timer from the slot.
"[Wheeler] knows I'm open, so for him it's about just finding that spot between the defenseman and the net," Stastny said. "It's quick plays like that, that's what 'Wheels' is really good at, those little 2-on-1 plays down low. He made it real easy for me."
Robertson gave the Stars a 1-0 lead at 5:23 of the first period, deking Hellebuyck at the side of the net.
Stastny tied it 1-1 at 13:38 of the second period with a one-timer on the power play.
"It was a big game for us, especially when they came out hard," Holtby said. "You could tell they were a desperate team. We held our ground and got some big goals and big plays. This point in the season, it doesn't matter how you beat them."

DAL@WPG: Stastny buries no-look feed on power play

Robertson made it 2-1 at 19:08, scoring five-hole with a deke on a 2-on-1.
Kyle Connor tied it 2-2 at 1:21 of the third period, scoring from the slot on a rebound.
"It's frustrating, but you get a point and you've got to regroup," Jets forward Adam Lowry said. "I think it's frustrating that we had a pretty solid game, had a lot of chances and, obviously, we liked this one more than we liked the two in Dallas. … We've got to get ready for New York (Rangers on Sunday)."
NOTES:Winnipeg defenseman Nathan Beaulieu left the game late in the first period with an apparent left leg injury after hitting the boards. Dave Lowry had no update after the game. … Pavelski's assist on Robertson's goal gave him 900 NHL points (415 goals, 485 assists). … Forward Tyler Seguin and defenseman Miro Heiskanen did not play after being game-time decisions for Dallas. They were "under the weather," according to Bowness; he is hopeful they will be available at the Minnesota Wild on Sunday.
