Stars unveil jersey for 2020 Winter Classic

Uniforms for New Year's Day game against Predators pay homage to history of hockey in Texas @NHLdotcom

The Dallas Stars will ring in 2020 with a nod to the history of hockey in Texas.

The Stars, adidas and the NHL unveiled Wednesday the uniforms Dallas will wear in the 2020 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic against the Nashville Predators at the Cotton Bowl on New Year's Day (2 p.m. ET; NBC, SN, TVAS). The retro look celebrates Texas hockey history and the rich heritage that preceded the Stars franchise.

Some of the details include: 

-- A patch in the shape of the state of Texas embroidered in heather-gray felt on the left sleeve stripe to pay homage to the Stars' home state.

-- The crest is inspired by historical hockey uniforms from Texas and features the word "STARS" superimposed upon the letter "D."

-- The "A" in "STARS" takes the shape of a star as a reference to the Texas state flag.

-- The interior collar features a design inspired by the Texas state flag.

-- The jersey's yoke construction has been narrowed marking a first for the ADIZERO hockey jersey.

The Dallas Stars ADIZERO Authentic Pro 2020 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic® jersey will be available online at, and the adidas Hockey shop at Hangar Team Stores in Frisco and Victory Plaza on Nov. 15.
