Dallas leads best-of-7 series, 1-0

The Tampa Bay Lightning look to even the Stanley Cup Final against the Dallas Stars in Game 2 at Rogers Place in Edmonton on Monday.
The Lightning lost Game 1 of the best-of-7 series 4-1 in Edmonton, the hub city for the Cup Final, on Saturday. They are 5-0 in games following a loss this postseason, outscoring opponents 16-9. Andrei Vasilevskiy has won each of those games with a 1.32 goals-against average and .943 save percentage.

Tampa Bay outshot Dallas 22-2 in the third period of Game 1 but couldn't score against Anton Khudobin, who finished with 35 saves.
"I would expect us to take the fight to them moving forward," Lightning forward Blake Coleman said. "Part of that is game plan and the other part of that is us executing it. I'm excited to see the response from the boys."
The Stars are looking for their fifth straight win. They haven't lost since Game 2 of the Western Conference Final, allowing six goals in the past four games.
Since the Stanley Cup Final went to a best-of-7 format in 1939, teams that take a 2-0 lead have gone on to win the series 46 of 51 times (90.2 percent).
Here are 3 keys to Game 2:

1. Dominant 'Dobby'

Khudobin is 9-0 with a .934 save percentage in the past nine games when he has made at least 30 saves.
"It looks like whenever he's out there he's having fun," Stars defenseman Jamie Oleksiak said. "I think we're feeding off that energy. He's been great. I can't say enough about him."

2. Take away his eyes

The Lightning need to create layers of traffic in front of Khudobin, who didn't have much trouble seeing many of the 36 shots he faced in Game 1.
The Stars do a good job keeping the front of the net clean and the shots to the outside. Khudobin often sees the puck, and the Stars don't give up many second-chance opportunities if there are rebounds because of how they control the inside of the zone.
"We don't get running," Stars forward Jason Dickinson said. "When we're in doubt, we pack it in and expand from there, but protect the house first."

3. Stay with it

The Lightning must avoid frustration, especially if they have the puck a lot, like they did in the third period of Game 1, and Khudobin is on his game again.
They also need to have a better start. The Lightning have allowed the first goal in six straight games, going 3-3.
"It's one game, but we've learned a lot about our opponent already," Coleman said. "Now we know what to expect and what we're in for. I expect this to be a long and hard-fought series."
