Dallas Stars sign forward Brian Sutherby to $1.6-million, 2-year contract @NHLdotcom

DALLAS - The Dallas Stars have signed centre Brian Sutherby to a $1.6-million, two-year contract.

The Stars announced the signing Monday. Sutherby, 27, was acquired in a trade from the Anaheim Ducks in December. In 50 games with the Stars and Ducks this season, he has recorded eight goals, seven assists and 54 penalty minutes.

Sutherby will make $800,000 this season, and was set to become an unrestricted free agent July 1.

Sutherby was a first-round draft choice of the Washington Capitals in 2000. He has played in 354 NHL games with the Capitals, Ducks and Stars.
