Heiskanen sends Stars past Kraken in OT

SEATTLE -- Miro Heiskanen scored with 1:34 remaining in overtime, and the Dallas Stars rallied for a 4-3 win against the Seattle Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena on Saturday.

Heiskanen, who also had an assist, scored stick side on a one-timer off a saucer pass by Max Domi.
"That was a great pass for us by 'Maxie,'" Heiskanen said. "It's a great saucer. [I tried] to find an open space and go there and [a] great pass by him."
Roope Hintz had a goal and an assist, and Jake Oettinger made 28 saves for the Stars (36-17-13), who have won six of their past eight (6-1-1) and extended their road point streak to six games (5-0-1).
Dallas remained two points ahead of the Minnesota Wild for first place in the Central Division. Minnesota defeated the San Jose Sharks 5-2 on Saturday.
"That was unbelievable," Stars forward Mason Marchment said. "Just shows the resiliency of our group and I don't think there was a doubt that we weren't gonna come back and win that one. I think we played a great game, [a] great road game, and that was a huge one."

Jordan Eberle and Ryan Donato scored, Vince Dunn had two assists, and Philipp Grubauer made 21 saves for the Kraken (37-22-7), who have lost two straight and will host the Stars on Monday.
"We play them in two days again," Seattle coach Dave Hakstol said. "There's some little areas of the game that we'll look at. It was a real competitive hockey game all the way through."
The Kraken moved one point ahead of the Edmonton Oilers for third place in the Pacific Division. Edmonton lost 7-4 to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday.
Donato tied it 2-2 at 10:03 of the third period when he banged in a rebound to end a 16-game goal drought.
Oliver Bjorkstrand then gave Seattle a 3-2 lead at 16:35 on a power play after receiving a pass by Alex Wennberg from the goal line.
"It's a competitive game out there. I thought we did a pretty good job for the most part," Dunn said. "A really disappointing result again, when we're up close to the end there. So, we'll learn from it, we'll look at it and we'll find a way to break them down. We have them again very soon so, just forget it, that's an important point that we got."
Joe Pavelski tied it 3-3 at 18:50 with a one-timer from the bottom of the left face-off circle past a sprawling Grubauer during a 6-on-5.
"It's huge," Oettinger said. "I mean, all these games late in the season feel like [Stanley Cup] Playoff games and this is an unreal arena and the atmosphere is great. So, it felt like a playoff game and just happy that we could come out with a win."

Hintz gave Dallas a 1-0 lead at 4:51 of the second period, scoring past a diving Grubauer after Esa Lindell found him with a cross-ice pass off a rebound.
Eberle tied it 1-1 at 7:41 when Matty Beniers and Eberle each deflected a point shot by Dunn.
Marchment responded for Seattle to make it 2-1 at 10:29, deflecting a Ryan Suter shot off an offensive-zone face-off win by Ty Dellandrea.
"I think we played a really good game," Marchment said. "So just keep pushing, right? We had our guys out there at the end and we took advantage of some of their mistakes and, you know, it was huge."
Dallas is 2-0-0 to begin a season-long six-game road trip.
"It's kind of weird (to play Seattle again Monday) I've never had anything like this," said Marchment. "So, it's kind of interesting. But, again, it's pretty fun. It's nice to not have to travel tonight so that's huge."
