Stars place Johnny Oduya on injured reserve

Defenseman re-aggravated ankle injury Tuesday; Julius Honka recalled from AHL @NHLdotcom

Dallas Stars defenseman Johnny Oduya was placed on injured reserve on Friday after re-aggravating an ankle injury. The move is retroactive to Tuesday.

Oduya left in the second period of the Stars 7-6 victory against the New York Rangers on Tuesday. He missed 10 games from Nov. 21-Dec.10 with the same injury.

Oduya has one goal and six assists in 36 games this season and leads the Stars in blocked shots (80).

Defenseman Julius Honka was recalled from Texas of the American Hockey League. Honka has 21 points (five goals, 16 assists) in 30 games with Texas, and has three points in eight games with Dallas this season. 

The Stars host the Washington Capitals on Saturday (8 p.m. ET; NHLN, FS-SW, CSN-DC+, NHL.TV).
