Two opposing teams were united on Friday night.

The Dallas Stars lost two treasured members of the organization this year. The Vegas Golden Knights were playing the first game in franchise history in the wake of a tragic shooting at a concert on Sunday. So, the two shared a moment before the game to stand together.
Veteran broadcaster
Dave Strader, the Stars play-by-play announcer
, died Sunday at age 62 after a battle with cancer. Stars graphic designer Promise Hamilton was just 23 years old when she and her boyfriend were involved in a fatal car accident. The Las Vegas shooting claimed 58 lives and injured over 500 people in what was the worst mass shooting in American history.
Before Friday night's game, the two teams gathered on the same side of the ice to honor the lives that were lost.
The Stars have decided to dedicate the season to the memory of Strader and Hamilton.
