Jokinen, 34, was claimed off waivers from the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday. He was taken in the sixth round (No. 192) by Dallas in the 2001 NHL Draft and made his NHL debut with the Stars in 2005. Columbus will be his eighth NHL team.
The Blue Jackets, who are coming off a five-day break, have lost two straight and are 3-5-1 in the past nine games.

, 22, will make his NHL debut for the Stars. He was selected in the second round (No. 50) of the 2013 NHL Draft by Columbus and traded to Dallas for forward Lauri Korpikoski on March 1, 2017.

Stars center Jason Spezza responded to being a healthy scratch Monday at the Boston Bruins by scoring twice in a 4-2 win against the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday.
Blue Jackets defenseman Seth Jones has six points (one goal, five assists) in a four-game point streak. He has 30 points (eight goals, 22 assists) in 46 games this season.
