Fantasy picks: Anthony Beauvillier has upside

Islanders rookie among Nov. 28 DFS value targets alongside John Tavares

by Pete Jensen @NHLJensen / NHL.com Senior Fantasy Editor

Each day this season, NHL.com's fantasy staff will provide daily picks for DraftKings NHL contests. This list of targets includes value options at each position to help you build a winning roster.

Paul Stastny, C, ($4,600) and David Perron, W, STL ($4,200)

Stastny and Perron have been an underrated DFS line stack of late, riding point streaks of three and seven games, respectively. In addition to skating together on the St. Louis Blues second line at even strength, Perron (2:31 per game) and Stastny (3:06) are seeing significant usage with the man-advantage. They are in a prime spot at home against the Dallas Stars, who are allowing 3.27 goals per game (second-most in NHL).

Anthony Beauvillier, W, NYI ($3,000)

Beauvillier has been hit-or-miss in fantasy this season, but is skating alongside John Tavares on the New York Islanders top line of late. The Calgary Flames are allowing the most DraftKings points to opposing wings this season, and Tavares has 12 points in as many home games. Drafting Beauvillier exposes you to the Islanders captain and offsets his hefty price ($7,300).

Julius Honka, D, DAL ($4,100)

Honka was recalled by the Stars on Nov. 20, and has been generating scoring chances early and often in his NHL career. He has one assist and two blocks in three games, but his DFS owners have benefited from his stellar SOG total (13) in the span. Only Alex Pietrangelo (3.5; $5,200) and Mark Giordano (3.3; $6,100) are averaging more DraftKings points per game among defensemen on this two-game slate, but Honka is conveniently priced well below them and 11th at his position.

Thomas Greiss, G, NYI ($7,700)

The Islanders got one win in their three-game road trip in California, but were competitive in each game. Greiss, expected to oppose struggling Brian Elliott on Monday when New York returns to Barclays Center, is 3-4-0 with a .915 save percentage in eight outings this season. He's $300 cheaper than top-priced goalie Jake Allen and offers bounce-back potential. He's averaging 3.7 DraftKings points per game and has not allowed more than three goals in a game this season.
