DraftKings Daily NHL Picks for Saturday

The NHL Tonight crew makes their picks for top DraftKings players for Saturday night, including Patrick Kane and Max Domi

  • 01:07 •

Each day this season, NHL.com's fantasy staff will provide daily picks for DraftKings NHL contests. This article includes expensive and value plays and should be used as a basis for your roster decision-making.

NOTE: These picks are for eight-game Saturday contests beginning at 7 p.m. ET.

TOP CENTER: Connor McDavid, EDM ($8,100)

McDavid has two goals, one block and seven shots on goal in two games against the Vancouver Canucks and should be the building block of your roster Saturday. He had three assists, one block and three SOG (8.0 DraftKings points) against the Boston Bruins on Thursday and is better than a point per game at home with 36 points in 34 games. After a three-game losing streak, the Oilers have scored 14 goals in their past two games.

VALUE CENTER: Tyler Bozak, TOR ($4,900)

Bozak has excellent home splits with 25 points in 31 games and has nine points in his past 10 games in his usual spot alongside Mitchell Marner and James van Riemsdyk. He has three power-play points in that stretch, improving his season total to 15 on the first unit. Even though his shot volume won't blow you away (126 SOG in 65 games), it's amazing to see Bozak priced below $5,000 with such consistent point production. Ten of his 16 goals have come at home, where the Toronto Maple Leafs play the Chicago Blackhawks.

TOP WING: Artemi Panarin, CHI ($6,100)

Panarin has been a point-per-game player on the road this season (34 points in 34 games) and had two assists against the Maple Leafs on Oct. 22. He plays with Patrick Kane in all situations and offers an appealing stack with Nick Schmaltz ($4,300), who has taken the place of injured center Artem Anisimov (lower body). Even with a four-game point streak and at least one point in nine of 10, Panarin is priced outside the top 10 wings.

VALUE WING: Brendan Gallagher, MTL ($4,400)

Gallagher scored 40 points and shot 11 percent (19 goals on 173 SOG) in 53 games last season. He has missed time again because of injury this season but hasn't played nearly as much on the Montreal Canadiens' top line after the addition of right wing Alexander Radulov. Gallagher's point production is way down (21 in 52 games) as a result, and it hasn't helped that he has the worst shooting percentage among forwards with at least 140 SOG (4.5; seven goals on 154 SOG). That said, Gallagher has 25 SOG in his five-game goal drought, indicating he could finally break through against the Ottawa Senators.

TOP DEFENSEMAN: Roman Josi, NSH ($6,100)

Josi is tied for second among defensemen with 21 points in 19 games since the All-Star break behind Erik Karlsson (24 in 22). Josi has added 57 SOG and 32 blocks in the span and is much cheaper than Karlsson ($7,300) in DraftKings. Josi has a chance to do some more damage at the Carolina Hurricanes, who have the fourth-worst save percentage (.899). Josi is averaging 4.5 DraftKings points per game over his past 10 games and has an assist in three straight road games.

VALUE DEFENSEMAN: Jakob Chychrun, ARI ($3,200)

Chychrun broke out for three points against the New Jersey Devils on March 11, when he was priced at $3,000. The rookie has returned DraftKings value in two of his three games since, and scored a goal on three SOG with two blocks against the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday (5.5 DraftKings points per game). His price remains near the bottom of the barrel for another home game against the St. Louis Blues. He played 2:19 on the power play Thursday and is beginning to hit his stride with 5.3 DraftKings points per game over those four games (season average: 2.0).

GOALIE SPOTLIGHT: Pekka Rinne ($8,000) or Juuse Saros ($7,900), NSH

Rinne made 22 saves on 23 shots in a 2-1 road win against the Washington Capitals on Thursday. That was his first road win in four games this month (1-1-2) despite a .928 save percentage. He's 8-4-3 with a .921 save percentage against the Eastern Conference. If Saros starts against the Hurricanes, he's $100 cheaper and has a .937 SV% and one shutout in eight road games (5-3-0).
