Each day this season,'s fantasy staff will provide daily picks for DraftKings NHL contests. This article includes expensive and value plays and should be used as a basis for your roster decision-making.

TOP CENTER: Jonathan Toews, CHI ($6,300)

Toews leads the NHL with 20 points in 12 games since Jan. 22 and has 40 shots on goal in the span. His surge has come on the Chicago Blackhawks' second line with Richard Panik ($4,700) and Nick Schmaltz ($3,900), each a low-risk, high-reward option at home against the Arizona Coyotes. Toews had five points against the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday; the other players to do so this season are Brad Marchand (twice), Nicklas Backstrom, Max Pacioretty and Mark Stone.

VALUE CENTER: Mike Fisher, NSH ($3,700)

Fisher has a favorable matchup at home against the Colorado Avalanche, whom he has two goals, one assist, one block and seven SOG against in four games (3.0 DraftKings points per game) this season. He has 20 points in 27 home games, and is second on the Nashville Predators in power-play points (14). The Avalanche are allowing the seventh-most DraftKings points to opposing centers.

TOP WING: Nikita Kucherov, TBL ($7,200)

Kucherov is one of seven players averaging more than a point per game (1.02; minimum 20 games played). He has 29 points in 25 home games after a four-point game against the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday. His even-strength linemates, Tyler Johnson ($5,100) and Ondrej Palat ($4,900), have been productive and remain affordable in daily fantasy. Kucherov is also averaging nearly four shots per game since the All-Star break (34 SOG in past nine games).

VALUE WING: Josh Leivo, TOR ($3,800)

Leivo, who has occupied a top-nine forward role for the Toronto Maple Leafs this past week, has eight points and 18 SOG in his past five games. With Mitchell Marner sidelined because of an upper-body injury, Leivo continues to flourish and offers immense DraftKings value on a nightly basis alongside the underrated Nazem Kadri. Six of Leivo's eight points have come at home, where the Maple Leafs host the New York Rangers.

TOP DEFENSEMAN: P.K. Subban, NSH ($5,600)

After scoring 18 points in his first 37 games missing some time because of injury, Subban has combined for nine points in his past six with four multipoint games. He has two points, three blocks and eight SOG in three games against the Avalanche this season (3.5 DraftKings points per game), and has been heating up on the power play with three PPP in the six-game span. He has 15 points in 23 home games and is tied for ninth among defensemen in points per game (0.63).

VALUE DEFENSEMAN: Nick Leddy, NYI ($4,700)

Leddy has no points in his past five games, but is a nightly threat for a multipoint game (six this season, including two three-point games). His price has dropped well below $5,000, and his DraftKings points-per-game average is actually higher on the road (2.9) than it is at home (2.7). He has two assists, three blocks and four SOG in two games against the Montreal Canadiens, and has a chance to bounce back given his power-play exposure to John Tavares.

GOALIE SPOTLIGHT: Corey Crawford, CHI ($8,400)

Crawford is third in wins since 2010-11 (204) behind Henrik Lundqvist and Marc-Andre Fleury (224 each). He's tied for 11th this season (23) and tied for 11th in save percentage among the 33 goalies to play at least 30 games entering Wednesday. Crawford is 8-2-2 in his regular-season career against the Arizona Coyotes, and is 13-5-1 with a .923 SV% and two shutouts when on one day of rest this season.
