Curtis Valk scored twice to lead Medicine Hat over Calgary Hitmen 2-1 @NHLdotcom

CALGARY - Curtis Valk scored both goals for the Medicine Hat Tigers in a 2-1 win over the Calgary Hitmen in Western Hockey League action Sunday.

Emerson Etem set up both goals for the Tigers (17-11-4), who snapped a three-game losing streak.

Calder Brooks scored the lone goal of the game for the Hitmen (15-12-2).

Brooks? goal at 18:21 of the second period prompted the 16.014 fans in attendance at the Scotiabank Saddledome to litter the ice with 25,303 stuffed toys as part of the 17th annual Petro-Canada Teddy Bear Toss.

Medicine Hat netminder Tyler Bunz made 37 saves, including 18 in the third period to backstop the Tigers to victory.

At the other end of the ice, Hitmen goalie Chris Driedger stopped 15-of-17 shots he faced in a losing cause.
