Curtis Sanford posts shutout as Moose blank Monsters 1-0 @NHLdotcom

CLEVELAND - Curtis Sanford stopped all 26 shots he faced helping the Manitoba Moose shut down the Lake Erie Monsters 1-0 in AHL action Saturday.

Sanford was making his first start in the AHL since clearing waivers and being re-assigned by the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday. The 29-year-old backup was the odd man out in Vancouver with the return of Roberto Luongo and the acquisition of Jason LaBarbera in a trade with Los Angeles.

Michael Grabner scored the lone goal in the game at 17:25 of the first for his 19th of the season. Michel Ouellet and Mark Cullen assisted on the goal.

Jason Bacashihua made 27 saves for Lake Erie (15-20-1-5).

Manitoba lead the North Division at 29-13-0-2.
