Scott Hartnell Blue Jackets CBJ 1005

Former Columbus Blue Jackets forward Scott Hartnell announced his retirement this morning after 17 seasons in the NHL.
Nick Foligno and Brandon Dubinsky took to Twitter to congratulate him on his career and reminisce about Hartnell's time with the Blue Jackets. John Tortorella was asked about Hartnell during his media availability and said, "I loved coaching him." Additionaly, Zach Werenski retweeted Hartnell as a way to show his appreciation for the forward.

The gritty power forward spent three seasons with the Blue Jackets tallying 146 points and 275 penalty minutes in 234 games.
Hartsy was known for his personality, giving us these gems--among others--while a member of the Blue Jackets:
Foligno commended Hartnell on his career and called Hartnell out for making him sick enough to miss a game.

Dubinsky praised his best friend on being a fierce opponent.

Cam Atkinson, who has been known to get into good-natured chirping contests with Hartsy on Twitter, offered his sincere well wishes via the same social media platform:

Torts talked about the old school in Hartnell and how there are not enough old school character guys who aren't afraid to show personality.

Thank you, Hartsy!
