The matchup between the Dallas Stars and Tampa Bay Lightning was discussed, analyzed and debated, and predictions were made, on a special Stanley Cup Final preview edition of the NHL @TheRink podcast on Friday.

Co-hosts Dan Rosen and Shawn P. Roarke were joined for the entire episode by NHL.com columnist Nick Cotsonika for a roundtable discussion on the upcoming series.
Game 1 between the Stars and Lightning is at Rogers Place in Edmonton, the hub city for the Cup Final, on Saturday (7:30 p.m. ET; NBC, CBC, SN, TVAS).

Rosen, Roarke and Cotsonika went over some of the historical aspects of this Cup Final and what makes it unique.
They discussed how the Stars and Lightning got this far, what's been working for each team, the unique goaltending matchup of two Russians in the nets (Andrei Vasilevskiy for the Lightning, Anton Khudobin for the Stars), the challenges each will face, what it would mean if Tampa Bay captain Steven Stamkos returns, and many of the other storylines that are being highlighted going into this series.
Rosen, Roarke and Cotsonika each made a prediction for the series, with all three picking the Lightning to win the Stanley Cup for the second time, first since 2004. Roarke, though, went as far as saying the series will go seven games because he has that much respect for the Stars.
The podcast is free and listeners can subscribe on all podcast platforms. It is also available on NHL.com/multimedia/podcasts and the NHL app.
