Cunningham scores in third overtime as Giants defeat Bruins 4-3

CHILLIWACK, B.C. - Craig Cunningham scored 19 minutes and 13 seconds into the third overtime period as the Vancouver Giants beat the Chilliwack Bruins 4-3 in Western Hockey League action Tuesday.

The Giants lead the Western Conference quarter-final 3-0. Jonathon Blum, James Wright and Michal Repik also scored for Vancouver, which can complete the sweep in Chilliwack on Wednesday.

Casey Pierro-Zabotel had three assists, including a helper on the winning goal.

Brandon Campos, with two, and Nick Holden scored for the Bruins, who twice came back from two-goal deficits.

Both goaltenders were outstanding, with Tyson Sexsmith stopping 49 shots for the Giants and Mark Friesen making 61 saves for the Bruins.
