HOUSTON - Mark Cullen, Mark Derlago and Michael Grabner scored consecutive shootout goals to lead the Manitoba Moose to a 3-2 win over the Houston Aeros in a rare Thursday afternoon game in the AHL.
After Houston's Corey Locke gave the Aeros a 1-0 lead through the first round of the shootout, Manitoba netminder Karl Goehring was unbeatable the rest of the way, setting the stage for the Moose comeback.
Goehring added 14 saves in regulation and overtime as the Moose (17-4-0-0) beat Houston (10-10-1-2) for the second time in three days.
Grabner and Alexandre Bolduc had regulation goals for Manitoba, which won despite squandering a two-goal lead in the final seven minutes of the third period.
Locke led the Aeros with a goal and an assist, while Jason Deitsch added a single. Barry Brust turned aside 23 shots in defeat.
