MET@ATL: Crosby gifts puck to young Capitals fan

Sidney Crosby got a smile from a Washington Capitals fan, proving anything can happen at the 2019 Honda NHL All Star Game.

The Metropolitan Division forward and Pittsburgh Penguins captain handed out a souvenir to a young fan wearing an Alex Ovechkin jersey at SAP Center on Saturday. The Penguins and Capitals are of course one of the League's biggest rivalries.
While testing the ice before the opening face-off, Crosby picked up an idle puck and flipped it over the glass to the fan clad in the jersey of the Washington Capitals captain. Ovechkin was voted in to the game but the 2019 Conn Smythe winner and new father
opted to skip the game
to rest, citing a recent heavy workload.
Apparently tossing a souvenir to a fan of the Penguins nemeses led to good karma, as Crosby scored just 15 seconds into the Metro's game against the Atlantic en route to a 7-4 win.
