Sidney Crosby needed less than eight minutes of Pittsburgh's game against Florida on Wednesday night to extend his points streak to 22 games.

Crosby continued his hot streak by blasting a slap shot from the left circle past Panthers goaltender Tomas Vokoun at 7:44 of the opening period, giving the Penguins a 2-1 lead. Goaltender Brent Johnson whipped the puck around the left boards and Chris Kunitz tipped it to Crosby, who was racing through the neutral zone. Crosby had plenty of time to wind and fire, beating Vokoun to the far corner.

It was Crosby's 22nd goal during the streak, to go along with 21 assists. His 28 goals and 58 points are both tops in the NHL.
