Not only will Sidney Crosby
be front and center when the Pittsburgh Penguins
raise their Stanley Cup championship banner at Mellon Arena on Friday, but he'll be in the lineup.
Crosby practiced for the first time since suffering a groin injury in a preseason match with Columbus last Thursday. He played three shifts totaling 1:37 before skating to the bench just five minutes into the game against the Blue Jackets.
Crosby participated in the Penguins' practice Tuesday. He skated on Saturday and Sunday, but did not play in the Penguins' final exhibition game against Detroit on Sunday.
