Crooks scores winner as Royals beat Rockets 3-1 @NHLdotcom

KELOWNA, B.C. - Jamie Crooks scored the winning goal at 6:22 of the third period as the Victoria Royals went on to defeat the host Kelowna Rockets 3-1 on Friday in Western Hockey League action.

Logan Nelson and Brett Cote also scored for the Royals (22-40-6), who sit seventh in the Western Conference.

Myles Bell scored the lone goal for the Rockets (29-30-9), who lost for the first time in four outings.

Keith Hamilton made 26 saves for the win while Adam Brown turned away 34 shots in defeat.

Victoria went 0 for 6 on the power play as Kelowna failed to score on three opportunities with the man advantage.
