Coyotes TV ratings on the rise @NHLdotcom
Television ratings for the surprising Phoenix Coyotes are up 50 percent from last season, according to a statement released by FOX Sports Arizona on Thursday.

The Coyotes are fourth in the Western Conference this season with 73 points, and only the Washington Capitals (82), San Jose Sharks (81) and Chicago Blackhawks (78) have more points entering Thursday night's games.

To put the Coyotes' season in perspective, they finished last season with only 79 points.

The success on the ice this season has translated into success with the Nielsen ratings. Not only are Coyotes games drawing more viewers, but the team's pre-game and post-game shows are up 90 percent and 60 percent, respectively, compared to last season's numbers.

The Coyotes will face the Blackhawks in Chicago on Friday at 8:30 p.m. ET.
