Karel Vejmelka signed a three-year contract with the Arizona Coyotes on Monday. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The goalie could have become a restricted free agent after the season.
"We are very pleased to sign Karel to a contract extension," Coyotes general manager Bill Armstrong said. "He is a big (6-foot-4, 224 pounds), talented goaltender who has a great work ethic and has established himself as a very good NHL goalie. We look forward to having him on our roster next season."
Vejmelka is 10-23-1 with a 3.35 goals-against average, .905 save percentage and one shutout in 36 games (34 starts) this season. He is second among rookie goalies in games and starts, and fifth in wins and save percentage (minimum 10 games).
The 25-year-old was selected in the fifth round (No. 145) of the 2015 NHL Draft by the Nashville Predators and signed as a free agent with the Coyotes on May 5, 2021.
Arizona (20-38-4) is last in the Central Division.
