-- The Phoenix Coyotes
will be without defenseman Dave Schlemko for the rest of the regular season following surgery on his right foot.
Schlemko was injured in the second period of a Jan. 7 win over the New York Islanders
and was initially expected to miss six to eight weeks. But following surgery it was determined that the recuperation process would take longer, ruling Schlemko out for an even longer period of time.

The Coyotes are also without defenseman Adrian Aucoin
, who missed his third straight game Saturday against Tampa Bay with a lower-body injury. Aucoin has missed 10 of the last 17 games with an assortment of injures. The Coyotes have rookies Chris Summers
and Maxim Goncharov
on the roster and Summers -- who has three assists in his last three games -- got the start against the Lightning.
The Coyotes also played without center Daymond Langkow
on Saturday, but the news is better than expected on him. After taking a puck in the face off the stick of Detroit's Jiri Hudler
Thursday night and leaving the game in the first period, Langkow was back on the ice and even considered playing Saturday. His status is day-to-day. The Coyotes have been without at least one of their top three centers for the past 13 games, with Langkow, Martin Hanzal
and Boyd Gordon
all spending time on the injured list.
