NEW YORK -- Arizona Coyotes forward Nick Ritchie has been suspended for one game, without pay, for slashing Anaheim Ducks defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk during NHL Game No. 1088 in Arizona on Friday, April 1, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 19:59 of the first period. Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Ritchie will forfeit $12,500.00. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
