The Arizona Coyotes hope defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson will be able to play against the Los Angeles Kings at Gila River Arena on Thursday (9 p.m. ET; FS-A, FS-W), general manager John Chayka told Arizona Sports 98.7 FM on Wednesday.
Ekman-Larsson left a 2-1 overtime loss to the San Jose Sharks in the second period Tuesday after sustaining a hand injury.
Chayka termed the injury "a little bruise. It's something he's dealing with, but everyone is dealing with something at this point in the season.
"We have a day off [Wednesday], a maintenance day, so he'll kind of get that looked after, and we hope he's in the lineup [Thursday] because he's our star player."
Ekman-Larsson has five goals and 10 points in 21 games while averaging a Coyotes-high 24:15 of ice time per game.
Goalie Louis Domingue (lower body), who hasn't played since Nov. 23, could come off injured reserve when he's eligible Thursday, coach Dave Tippett told ArizonaSports.com. Starter Mike Smith has a .936 save percentage in six starts since returning from a lower-body injury on Nov. 16.
