The Arizona Coyotes had an old friend drop the puck at Thursday night's game against the Detroit Red Wings as Diamondbacks outfielder A.J. Pollock stopped by to participate in the ceremony.

Pollock, an All-Star in 2015 before missing almost all of 2016 due to injury, wore a Diamondbacks jersey that the Coyotes wore during warmups as part of D-backs night at Gila River Arena.

The 29-year-old center fielder is no stranger to NHL action or the Coyotes.

A native of Hebron, Connecticut, Pollock was at the Coyotes first ever game at Hartford back on October 5, 1996, according to the team.

Other members of the Diamondbacks organization were on hand for the festivities, including outfielder David Peralta and former player Luis Gonzalez.
