Arizona Coyotes goaltender Mike Smith left the game against the Ottawa Senators at 7:18 of the third period because of an apparent leg injury.

Smith twisted back into the net after a shot by Ottawa forward Chris Kelly hit the post and was helped off the ice favoring his left leg.

The Coyotes trailed 3-2 when Smith exited. He had 27 saves.

Louis Domingue replaced Smith. Kelly and Senators forward Mark Stone scored goals at 7:30 and 8:11 to put the Senators up 5-2.
