Coyotes go for nine in a row @NHL
The Tampa Bay Lightning will get the next chance to cool off the NHL's hottest team.

One night after extending their winning streak to eight games with a 3-2 overtime victory at Philadelphia, the Phoenix Coyotes will go for win No. 9 when they pay a rare visit to Tampa Bay. The Lightning, playing the 11th game in a 12-game homestand, have been idle since Saturday's 3-2 shootout loss to Florida.

The 7:30 p.m. ET start is one of six games on Wednesday's NHL schedule.

The action gets under way a half-hour earlier with two games. Florida tries to bounce back from Monday's 5-1 loss to the Islanders when it visits Ottawa in a game that can be seen in Canada on RDS. The Senators have been off since Saturday's 1-0 shootout win at Toronto. Also at 7, Atlanta visits Buffalo in a battle of two teams that have been struggling. The Thrashers lost 5-3 at Edmonton on Saturday, while the Sabres have dropped the first half of a six-game homestand -- including a 2-1 loss to Washington on Sunday.

Versus will be on hand in Pittsburgh when the San Jose Sharks come to town for a 7:30 p.m. start. San Jose comes to town after Tuesday's 4-3 win at Detroit. The Pens lost 1-0 to Washington at home on Monday night.

Edmonton puts its three-game winning streak on the line when it visits Colorado at 9:30 p.m. ET in a game that can be seen on TSN in Canada. The Avs ended their 10-game losing streak with a 4-3 win at St. Louis on Tuesday. In the final game of the night, Anaheim hosts Los Angeles at 10 p.m. ET. The Kings are back in Southern California for the finale of a 10-game road trip; they've been off since Saturday's 3-0 loss to the Islanders. Anaheim is also back home -- the Ducks have had three days to lick their wounds after being routed 9-3 at St. Louis on Saturday.
