OTTAWA - Ottawa captain Logan Couture scored twice Friday night to help lead the 67's past the Belleville Bulls 6-3 in Ontario Hockey League action Friday night.
The goals for Couture were his first of the season after rejoining the 67's three games ago from the San Jose Sharks training camp.
Tyler Toffoli and Michael Latta each had a goal and an assist for the 67's (5-4-0-0) while their linemate, Ryan Martindale picked two helpers. Both Latta and Martindale are 17-year old sophomores while Toffoli is a 16-year old rookie.
"Martindale and I each have a year under our belt, but Toffoli is really coming on," Latta said. "I remember my first few games and they were really nerve racking. For a 16-year old is handling it like a pro and really playing well. We all see each other well on the ice."
Thomas Kiriakou also had a goal and an assist for the 67's while Chris Perugini made 29 saves for his fifth win in eight starts.
Eric Tangradi and P.K. Subban scored the other goals for the Bulls (6-2-0-0), who got a 36-save performance form Philipp Grubauer. Both of Belleville's losses this season have been to the 67's.
The teams play again Monday afternoon in Belleville.
