Cougars' Greg Gardner scores winner in 4-2 victory against Blazers

KAMLOOPS, B.C. - Centre Greg Gardner, playing the 338th game of his WHL career, scored the Prince George Cougars final goal of the season Sunday as they dumped the Kamloops Blazers 4-2.

Gardner set a franchise record for career games played on Saturday when he played in game No. 337. That broke Chris Falloons record. Parker Stanfield, Jordie Deagle and Dale Hunt also scored for the Cougars. Ivan Rohac and Mike Gauthier replied for the Blazers.

The Blazers (27-40-2-2) finished eighth in the Western Conference and will meet the Tri-City Americans, who finished first overall, in a first-round series starting Friday in Kennewick, Wash.

The Cougars (19-48-1-3) finished ninth and out of the playoffs.

Prince George goaltender Real Cyr stopped 39 shots, while Kamloops James Priestner stopped 30.
