Peter-James Corsi had two goals and an assist in a five-goal first period and the Halifax Mooseheads bounced the Victoriaville Tigres with a 7-0 victory Monday.
Ryan Hillier, Logan MacMillan and Tomas Knotek also scored in the first while Bryce Swan added two goals in the second as the Mooseheads took the first-round series in six games.
Halifax will meet Cape Breton in the Eastern Conference semifinals. Cape Breton advanced by defeating the defending champion Lewiston Maineiacs 2-1 in overtime.
Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was: Acadie-Bathurst 4 St. John's 3 and Quebec 3 Chicoutimi 1.
At Halifax, Jakub Voracek added three assists for the Mooseheads.
Mark Yetman made 12 saves for the shutout.
Victoriaville goaltenders Kevin Poulin and Tommy Legault combined for 32 stops.

At Sydney, N.S., Chris Culligan and Murdock MacLellan scored as Cape Breton won it's series with Lewiston 4-2.
Jakub Bundil scored for the Maineiacs, who were denied a chance to repeat as QMJHL champions.
Titan 4 Fog Devils 3
At Bathurst, N.B., Tomas Svoboda and Drew Paris each had a goal and an assist as Acadie-Bathurst won its series with St. John's 4-2.
Brad Tesink and Ryan Graham also scored for the Titan, who meet Saint John in the next round.
Mario Kempe, Luke Adam and Phil Mangan replied for the Fog Devils.
Remparts 3 Sagueneens 1
At Quebec City, Kelsey Tessier and Angelo Esposito each had a goal and an assist as the Remparts knocked Chicoutimi out of the post-season.
Mathieu Loisel also scored for the Remparts, who face Gatineau in the Western Conference semifinals.
Francis Pare had the only goal for Chicoutimi.
