Perry to have hearing for actions in Stars game

Forward facing discipline for elbowing against Predators defenseman Ellis

Corey Perry will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Friday.

The Dallas Stars forward is facing discipline for elbowing against Nashville Predators defenseman Ryan Ellis in the 2020 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic on Wednesday.

The incident occurred at 2:44 of the first period during the Stars' 4-2 win at Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas. Perry received a five-minute major for elbowing and a game misconduct. Ellis did not return to the game.

The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: elbowing. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
