Conway stops 40 shots in regulation, shootout as Oshawa beats Peterborough 5-4

OSHAWA, Ont. - Neil Conway made 37 saves and three more in a shootout as the Oshawa Generals defeated the Peterborough Petes 5-4 after letting a 4-1 lead slip away.

Brett Parnham scored the lone goal of the shootout, beating Petes goalie Jason Missiaen on a deke on the first shot.

The Generals were rebounding from a 10-0 loss Friday in Ottawa, their first game of the season without captain John Tavares, who's at the selection camp for the Canadian world junior team.

Andy Andreoff led the Generals (16-13-0-4) with a goal and an assist, while Parnham, James DeLory and Robert Kousal also scored.

Sergey Korostin, Adam Sedlak, Pat Daley and Zack Kassian replied for the Petes (15-18-0-2).

The Petes outshot the Generals 41-25 and scored the final three goals of regulation, including the tying marker from Kassian with 1:12 remaining.
