Connor McDavid's "fans" evidently helped him get on the cover of EA Sports NHL 18.
The Edmonton Oilers captain, and cover star of the upcoming video game, posted a video of his pitch to the video-game company Tuesday with testimonials from fans who totally weren't him.
McDavid and his real-life manager Adam Phillips put on their finest wigs, fake moustaches and glasses to make the case for the 2017 winner of the Hart and Art Ross trophies and Ted Lindsay Award. His pitch was pretty convincing, but it was probably his super-cool usage of a fidget spinner at the end that put him over the top.
NHL 18 will be available worldwide Friday, and fans who pre-order the game with either the Young Stars or Young Stars Deluxe Editions will receive exclusive McDavid Hockey Ultimate Team content.
