KENT, Wash. - Connor Honey scored 4:55 into overtime to lift the Seattle Thunderbirds to a 3-2 victory over the Everett Silvertips Sunday night.
Seth Swenson and Branden Troock scored for Seattle in regulation with Kohl Bauml and Josh Winquist answering for Everett.
Kent Simpson made 46 saves for Everett in regulation and overtime before giving up a goal when Dave Sutter threw the puck on net and it hit Honey's stick and bounced in on the game's final rush.
Seattle (23-43-2) moved to within three points of Victoria for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. The loss drops Everett to 21-38-2-8. The Silvertips are one point ahead of Victoria.
