Connolly scores 20th, SO winner as Prince George outlasts the Rockets 3-2 @NHLdotcom

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. - Brett Connolly scored the only goal in the shootout to lift the Prince George Cougars to a 3-2 victory over the Kelowna Rockets on Saturday night in the Western Hockey League.

In the first period, the 16-year-old Connolly scored his 20th goal of the season to open the scoring for the Cougars (18-27-0-2). Brian Matte scored on a third-period power play to tie the game 2-2.

Ian Duval and Colin Long found the net in the second period for the Rockets (26-18-0-1).

Rookie goaltender Adam Brown made 26 saves in goal for Kelowna. Kevin Armstrong stopped 41 shots for Prince George.
