PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. - Brett Connolly and Marek Viedensky scored in the shootout to lead the Prince George Cougars to a 4-3 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings on Saturday night in the Western Hockey League.
Tyler Halliday scored twice in regulation for the Cougars, including the tying marker with 33 seconds to play in the third period. Justin Maylan, scratched in Friday's game for skipping school earlier in the week, had the other marker for Prince George (24-37-0-2).
Tomas Vincour, Brenden Dowd and Brandon Lockerby scored for Edmonton (26-31-2-5).
Torrie Jung stopped 36 shots for the Oil Kings. Joe Caligiuri, making a rare start for the Cougars, faced 37 shots.
