Bakersfield

Winners of their last four games overall, the Bakersfield Condors are soaring.

The club is 19-16-4-1 on the season and fifth in the Pacific Division with 43 points as the campaign nears its final stretch. They're in the hunt for a playoff spot and will meet the San Diego Gulls on Tuesday, who are 10-0-0-1 in their last 11 games played.
"I think we've been playing well," said Condors Head Coach Gerry Fleming. "I think our goaltenders have been playing extremely well here, both Nick (Ellis) and Jonas (Gustavsson). They've given us opportunities to win."
A number of new and returning players have also helped the team in its current streak. Jesse Puljujarvi is honing his game in Condorstown, scoring two goals and seven points in 11 games. Iiro Pakarinen is back from being sidelined and getting his legs under him with the squad. There's also new acquisition Henrik Samuelsson to give Fleming's lineup a different look.
Forwards Taylor Beck and Ryan Hamilton continue to produce points aplenty, with 44 and 33, respectively. The defence has also chipped in, with AHL All-Star Jordan Oesterle - who played his first NHL game this season against the Montreal Canadiens Sunday - scoring 18 points in 24 matches.
"We've scored some timely goals (and) our special teams have been pretty good as of late," Fleming said. "Hopefully, we can just build upon our successes here in the last couple of games and continue to get better."
