NEW YORK - Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman David Savard has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for slashing Florida Panthers forward Vincent Trocheck during NHL Game No. 647 in Columbus on Sunday, Jan. 7, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 16:02 of the third period.
The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
